Emirates Old Trafford is excited to present a range of corporate hospitality and event experiences for spring and summer 2024, following a £75million investment project, including a hotel extension, to cement the iconic cricket stadium as a world-class multi-purpose venue in Manchester.
The experiences include a unique hotel experience where guests can enjoy action-packed cricket and renowned music artists from the comfort of their own private pitch-facing hotel bedroom and balcony with a prime view of the action. Guests will benefit from easy access to the hotel bar while watching the likes of Green Day and Foo Fighters, followed by breakfast with a view the next morning in The Edge overlooking the world-famous outfield. The private hotel bedroom experience is also available for many world-class events in 2024 such as England Cricket Fixtures, the T20 Vitality Blast, and The Hundred.
Event planners can also host experiences in the Pavilion, a historic building with a modern twist, which is home to intimate shared hospitality suites offering fantastic views of the cricket. Or planners can choose The Point, the venue’s largest events space, which provides a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere for hospitality guests.
The recent extension of the on-site Hilton Garden Inn hotel added 100 bedrooms, bringing the total to 250, which includes 135 pitch-side rooms. As the home of Lancashire Cricket since 1864, seven top-floor premium suites were added and named in honour of notable Lancashire legends, past and present, who have all made a significant impact on the international cricket stage.
The revamped four-star property has also created two new outdoor terraces, plus The Edge, a modern restaurant and event space with spectacular panoramic views of the legendary cricket pitch and the stadium as a whole.
Post-extension, the hotel has already won the highly-coveted ‘Hotel Top Team of the Year’ at the Manchester Hoteliers Association Annual Awards. The win recognised the team for delivering beyond expectations, in terms of both business performance and customer satisfaction, with record levels of occupancy (80%, including the new rooms) and revenue, with more guests visiting the hotel than in previous years.
The investment and redevelopment project has already established Emirates Old Trafford as a destination in its own right and facilitated the hotel's integration with the venue’s existing event spaces, providing additional options for planners considering multi-day events, large conferences, immersive experiences, exhibitions, prestigious dinners and awards ceremonies, incentives, outdoors and team-building activities.
Angela Hodson, Sales Director at Emirates Old Trafford, said: “A £75million redevelopment across 15 years has taken our venue, hotel, and events offering to a new level and has put us on the map for event planners across the UK. We are now able to bring every part of the venue to life. We will continue to innovate with new products, incentives, and experiences.”
Janice Barrington-Wood, Head of Hotel Sales, added: “Our dedicated and experienced team is excited to showcase our corporate hospitality and event experiences for the summer season and establish Emirates Old Trafford as a new premier multi-purpose destination for meetings and events in Manchester and beyond. We look forward to creating unforgettable moments against the backdrop of a historic cricket stadium, world-class music events, and the thriving, vibrant city of Manchester.”
