Emirates Old Trafford welcomed a record 200,000 guests through the doors over the past couple of weeks after hosting four sold out concerts at the home of Lancashire Cricket.
American rock band The Killers played at the venue on Saturday 11 June, before two nights of Harry Styles on the 15 and 16 June, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers finishing off our concert season last week, with it being one of their first live appearances in the UK for over five years.
Each night saw complete 50,000 sell-outs of both general admission and hotel and hospitality packages and saw Emirates Old Trafford host four incredible nights of live music.
Emirates Old Trafford has gained a reputation of being one of the best concert venues in the country and regularly attracts some of the leading global artists. In recent years, in addition to 2022, the venue has hosted One Love Manchester, Rihanna, Beyonce, Foo Fighters, Courteeners – as Manchester leads the way in the music scene.
Operations Director, Steve Davies, said: “It’s been a monumental effort from the whole team to deliver four concerts in just over two weeks. You can’t underestimate the amount of planning that goes into them and the effort from everyone involved in the days leading up to it, and on the day.
“The two back-to-back nights of Harry Styles were particularly complicated from a health & safety, and operational, perspective. I’d like to thank all our stakeholders for all their help and assistance to ensure the safe delivery of each event.
“Emirates Old Trafford is one of the best cricket grounds in the world, but we’re more than that. We’re a multi-purpose stadium and we pride ourselves on delivering the very best experience for our guests, which helps us underline our reputation as a world class sport and entertainment venue.
“We’ve still got an incredibly busy few months ahead of us as we continue to host Lancashire in the domestic cricket season, The Hundred in August, three England internationals before a busy period of Conference and Events and Christmas parties in December.”
The venue is now being transformed back into a cricket ground, as Lancashire Lightning take on Birmingham Bears in the Vitality Blast this Sunday, televised live on Sky Sports in front of an expected sell-out crowd.
