Lancashire Cricket would like to make supporters aware of Metrolink closures which will affect those attending Manchester Super Giants matches during The Hundred at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has confirmed that there will be no trams be in operation whilst a section of track is replaced between Trafford Bar station and Deansgate-Castlefield station.
One of the lines that will be shut is the Altrincham line, meaning this closure will directly affect those traveling to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, with Old Trafford station part of the Altrincham line.
The closure will last for three weeks, between Monday 13 July and Sunday 2 August. It means Manchester Super Giants supporters attending the games against Birmingham Phoenix (Sunday 26 July) and Trent Rockets (Friday 31 July) will not be able to use the Metrolink to travel to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
Instead, there will be a special event bus service running to accommodate supporters. Fans traveling on the East Disbury and Manchester Airport line can still get the Metrolink, which will terminate at Firswood during the works. Firswood will be the closest running station to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, a 12-minute walk from the stadium.
You can find out more information about how the closures affect the two fixtures in The Hundred on the TfGM website, linked below.
