Emirates Old Trafford has been acknowledged as a leading UK venue, earning a finalist spot in two categories at the prestigious Conference and Events Awards 2024. The awards celebrate excellence within the UK events industry, showcasing the Manchester venue's commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
Following a £75m modernisation project, the legendary cricket venue has demonstrated excellence in service, exceptional facilities, and versatility, earning recognition in two categories for Best Venue and Most Versatile Venue.
This follows a major hotel extension of the on-site Hilton Garden Inn, which added 100 bedrooms, bringing the total to 250, including 135 pitch-side rooms with views of the iconic cricket pitch.
The shortlisting follows on from Emirates Old Trafford’s on-site Hilton Garden Inn winning the much-coveted ‘Hotel Top Team of the Year’ at last month’s Manchester Hoteliers Association Annual Awards.
Angela Hodson, Sales Director at Emirates Old Trafford, added: “This double finalist nomination at the Conference and Events Awards 2024 reaffirms our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our guests and setting new standards in event hosting. After completing our £75 million investment into Emirates Old Trafford last year, including a significant hotel expansion, we're proud to offer unparalleled service, outstanding facilities, and unrivalled versatility.
“We have been on a transformative journey to elevate our venue, hotel, and event services, and to establish Emirates Old Trafford as a destination in its own right. To be nominated as a finalist in not only one, but two categories in this year’s Conference and Events Awards, is a testament to our investment and strategy, but especially our highly experienced and hardworking teams.”
The hotel has already carved out a unique position in Manchester’s hotel market, with half the rooms offering pitch facing balconies, in what is widely seen as one of the most stunning bedroom views in the city. The additional room space, which complemented the venue’s already highly respected meetings and events business, spurred the businesses positioning as Destination Emirates Old Trafford and supported its contribution of £22.5 million to the local economy, over the course of 2023.
