Lancashire Cricket attends India Sales Mission

Lancashire Cricket recently attended an India Sales Mission trip in Mumbai and New Delhi with Visit Britain, as part of the new Manchester-India partnership.

Three representatives from the Club attended, including Lancashire and England opening batsman, Keaton Jennings, who hit his maiden Test Match century in India in 2016.

Angela Hodson, Sales Director, said: “The trip provided a fantastic chance to build relationships with Indian clients and agents, and highlighting the India Test Match which is coming to Emirates Old Trafford in 2021.

“We’ve met some incredible people and we’re really excited about the different opportunities this trip has presented for the Club, venue and region.”

The event follows on from three India ICC Cricket World Cup matches held at Emirates Old Trafford in 2019, and with Lancashire players Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone playing in last year’s IPL at Rajasthan Royals.

Keaton Jennings, added: “Having been to India as a player, it was awesome to experience it from a different perspective and help showcase the Club to a new audience. I have never been to a place so passionate about cricket.

“It was great to network with prospective Indian clients and I hope the trip helps us to unlock potential new partnerships in the coming months and years.”

Last year, senior independent director James Sheridan joined Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, in a trip to Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi, with the aim of mutually strengthening trade, investment, cultural and educational links, where the Club also explored potential business partnership opportunities.

The trip will be closely followed by Lancashire’s pre-season tour, which begins in Mumbai next month.
