Organising a keynote speaker for your association event

When organising an association event, you want to keep your delegates informed, engaged and provide them with thought provoking content. Your members will be attending your event looking to either sell, find out more about a new product or take away industry insights, so it’s important to provide them with quality content.

One way which this can be achieved is by arranging for an expert keynote speaker and create a stand-out ‘TED Talk’ session. A keynote speaker can set the tone and provide a further focus for your association event – after all, business events thrive on innovation and knowledge, and including a speaker in your event schedule can really add value.

There’s a reason Manchester is known as the city of innovation and it has strength in three pioneering sectors.

  • Life Sciences – Manchester offers a unique opportunity for life science companies, with the city being home to ground-breaking research and development assets, including the Manchester Universities Hospital and the Christie Cancer Centre. Businesses benefit from easy connectivity to global healthcare hubs, as well as an experienced and diverse talent pool stemming from the city’s four universities.
  • Advanced Manufacturing – Manchester is the Northern Powerhouse, famed for its rich industrial heritage and strong historical links with the industry. It’s no wonder that market leading brands such as Kellogg’s, Siemens, Hitatchi, P&G and Unilever have their headquarters in the city.
  • Creative, Digital and Technology – MediaCity is a hub for broadcasters including the BBC and ITV, with the quirky Northern Quarter being a hive for top media agencies and other creatives.

Utilising the city’s strengths can help to create an enriching experience for your members, as it brings to life a field of discussion and gets your members interacting. Ensure you save time for a Q&A session at the end of the talk, as it’s often content which delegates find the most valuable.
