Emirates Old Trafford chefs to cook 100 meals each week for homeless charity, Eat Well MRC

Hilton Garden Inn, Emirates Old Trafford is thrilled to be part of a new initiative with local charity Eat Well MCR to provide cooked meals for those most in need.

Each Wednesday, chefs from Lancashire Cricket’s on-site Hilton Garden Inn hotel will prepare, cook, package, label and refrigerate 100 cooked meals.

The meals will then be collected by the charity and distributed into schools with vulnerable families, women’s hostels and hotels across Manchester which are housing homeless families.

Hotel Manager, Sophie Atalay, said: “I think this is a great thing we are doing for the community and I would like to express my thanks to our chefs Liam, Nic, Kyle, Domenico, Lila and Mike who are all volunteering to help prepare these meals.

“During these difficult times, it’s a really nice feeling to know we can use our facilities here at Emirates Old Trafford to help provide 100 people each week with a hot meal which they may not get otherwise.

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with The Eat Well MCR collective who are doing some brilliant work across the city to ensure that nobody goes without a meal.”

The Eat Well MCR collective is made up of hospitality professionals and volunteers from all sectors. The collective has prepared and delivered 24,000 meals to people facing challenging circumstances in Greater Manchester since April 2020.
