At Emirates Old Trafford, we appreciate that the outbreak of Covid-19 is a concern for many. We've created an FAQs document with everything that you need to know.
Please note, we are continually monitoring the situation and will update this page accordingly.
What are you doing as a venue to prevent an outbreak?
As a business, we are continually monitoring the situation of Covid-19 and the impact this has on our own employees, staff, visitors to the stadium and our on-site Hilton Garden Inn, as well as the local community in accordance with Public Health England.
We have introduced additional proactive measures across the venue to help prevent the spread of the virus and protect the health of our employees and visitors. This includes additional cleaning services and the installation of further hand sanitisers and antibacterial handwash in all the washrooms at Emirates Old Trafford, as well as information posters reinforcing the official medical advice for all those on site.
Furthermore, we have cancelled any staff travel to high-risk countries and continue to remind all staff of good hygiene practices throughout Emirates Old Trafford. All of our suppliers and partners that are on-site are taking extra safety precautions when visiting the venue to prevent contagion.
I’m concerned about attending a conference, exhibition or event at the venue. What do I do?
We do appreciate that the outbreak of Coronavirus is a concern for many, but we are urging event organisers and attendees to remain calm.
The government guidance remains unchanged and Emirates Old Trafford will be operating as normal across the business.
The safety and welfare of delegates attending events at Emirates Old Trafford is of paramount importance to us and we will continue to monitor the situation, making informed decisions based on the guidance available to us from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England.
Whilst Emirates Old Trafford has great transport links to and from the venue with the tram stop and Manchester Airport both close by, if you are concerned about using public transport, the venue has 700 on-site car parking spaces available. There’s no need to travel to and from the city, as we have everything you need on site.
We’re still hosting our event but have had lots of delegates pull out. Is there anything you can do to help?
At Emirates Old Trafford, we’re committed to making your event a success. We can work with our AV Partners, MCL Create, to create a solution that means your event is still reaching your audience.
We can discuss requirements from live streaming right through to chat feeds on the day, to ensure your delegates can stay connected and engaged, wherever they are.
Our intelligent event spaces can be adapted to suit any needs, and we will be more than happy to discuss accommodating your event in a smaller suite. If you are hosting your event in The Point, our interchangeable walls can also be partitioned.
Please contact your Events Coordinator for further information, who will be more than happy to help.
What is your advice to event organisers and delegates?
Our main piece of advice to all organisers and delegates is to remain calm. Follow the advice provided to you by Public Health England and the World Health Organisation. We are continually monitoring and assessing the situation and will keep visitors, staff and employees updated should this change.
Emirates Old Trafford is operating as normal across the business, and we’re advising all delegates and organisers to remain confident about attending events.

We want to reassure visitors that Emirates Old Trafford is taking all possible steps to minimise the risk of contagion, including the implementation of enhanced cleaning regimes throughout the Stadium.
What advice can I provide delegates attending an event?
We would advise you to keep your delegates informed and provide them with relevant information and updates from Public Health England and the World Health Organisation.
Provide alternative travel advice for those who are concerned about using public transport and ensure that you have information posters reinforcing the official medical advice for your delegates throughout your event.
Reassure your delegates about the precautional measures that the venue is taking to prevent the contagion.
Encourage your delegates to have an open line of communication regarding their health, and if they feel unwell before the event, advise them not to travel and how they can stay connected in the event of this happening. If any of your delegates feel unwell during your visit at Emirates Old Trafford, please contact a member of staff immediately.
