What’s on in Manchester this Half Term

October half term is swiftly approaching, so why not make the most of your time and explore the wonderful city of Manchester?

With a variety of activities for families to enjoy, the Hilton Garden Inn Emirates Old Trafford shares its top things to do this Half Term, in and around the city.

Trick or Treat Trail

Get ready to get spooky with this creepy trail around the city centre, that’s guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained.

Grab your witches’ hat, don your best costumes and head to Exchange Square to discover the different Trick or Treat houses scattered across the city, and follow the map to see how many treats you collect. Be careful of the spiders!

The Trick or Treat Trail is free and runs from 26 – 27 October, between 10am and 6pm.

Crafts at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House

It’s time to show off your creative flare with this activity at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House.

Celebrate the best of autumn and challenge the whole family to create a leaf mobile, there’s plenty to keep the kids occupied.

The workshop is running on 30 October between 1pm and 3pm. Tickets are £1 for kids and can be bought on the day, but they must be accompanied by a full paying adult.

Family film screening at Salford Museum and Art Gallery

Get Spooktacular with this special screening of Hotel Transylvania at the Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

Get comfy and discover Dracula's lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up and no humans are allowed. One special weekend, Dracula has invited all his best friends – Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and more – to celebrate his beloved daughter Mavis's 118th birthday.

This special screening is being shown on 19 October from 5pm. Tickets start from £8 per adult and £6 per child.

Pumpkin carving at the Royal Exchange

Show off your design skills with the family pumpkin carving day at the Royal Exchange theatre.

All tools, stencils and pumpkins are provided, so try your hand at creating a funny face with this free workshop – the less perfect it is, the more spooky it will be.

Then, take your work of art home and pop it pride of place in the windowsill.

The pumpkin carving workshop is running on 26 – 27 October, from 11am – 3pm. Tickets are free and can be bought here.

Fright run at Lyme Park

Do you dare to go down to the woods today?

Are you brave enough to take on the spooky monsters that lurk in the forest? Join in the Halloween fun at Lyme Park with an afternoon 2km run around the beautiful grounds.

Perfect for children and adults of all ages, fancy dress is a must.

The Fright Run is on 25 October, and tickets are £4. All children must be accompanied by a full paying adult. For more details, visit here.
