It might only feel like yesterday that you were dropping the kids off for their first day of school, but October half term is already upon us!

  • Dinosaurs in the Wild - EventCity

  • Half Term Halloween Cruises

This autumn half term, the Princess Katherine gets taken over by some of the spookier elements of Manchester. Set sail from Manchester City Centre on an hour long return river and canal cruise.

With commentary taking about the early history of the River Irwell & Ship Canal as well as a couple of the popular ghost stories from along this stretch of water.

  • Lego Space Rovers

Part of the Manchester Science Festival, LEGO space rovers let kids get hands on with artificial intelligence, using space bots fit for the moon.

Explore all kinds of robotics, and discover how sensors and signals work in space. Program your rover to patrol new planets. Learn to drive it from across the universe, and how to say "Hi", when you're whole planets away.

Fun, exciting and engaging, this workshop allows kids to experiment with LEGO and technology in a way that's out of this world.

  • School of Wizardry

It’s time to take a magical journey on board the Wondrous Wizard Express.

You’ll join the teachers from the Grand Old School of Wizardry for your first day of term ... but things aren’t going to plan! Some very important enchanted items have gone missing and the head master is all in a muddle! You’ll have to muster some magic and have your wands at the ready as you go on a journey to find the missing magic and make sure that the first day of term goes without a hitch. Practitioners of the dark arts welcome!

  • The Horror of Oz

The Creators of Play Factore welcome you on a great and powerful trip to a thrilling, terrifying, treat of a night into fantasy world. The Creators entice you, "our little pretties" on Friday 27th October, 7.30-9.30pm for a spooktacular Halloween celebration that your family will not dare to forget.

Play Factore is the UK's largest indoor family entertainment arena. The Creators intend to do their worst for a night of mischief and tricks. Many have tried to elude them on the Go Kart track, Zap them in Laser Tag or escape them down our 40ft slide.

  • Tudors Rule!

Spend a fun-filled afternoon at the Library where you can drop in and explore the amazing world of the Tudors.

Between 1-4pm the Library will be alive with the sights and sounds of the Tudors. Create your own Tudor portrait, listen to storytelling and watch our amazing printing press in action.
