BOXING LEGEND Frank Bruno will be a special guest at Emirates Old Trafford later this week for Broughton Park FC’s fundraising dinner.
The former WBC and European heavyweight champion will be swapping his boxing gloves for a microphone at the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club when he talks about his illustrious career during the evening arranged by the local Rugby Union club.
John Russell from Broughton Park FC said: “We are a long-established rugby club based in the city centre and are looking forward to hosting our fundraising event in the brilliant facilities at Emirates Old Trafford.
“We play a pivotal role in our community by bringing inner city kids into a sport that offers a fantastic culture and we hope to raise funds that will allow us to continue our good work.
“We are delighted to be welcoming Frank Bruno, whose background is similar to some of the kids that have come through our club.”
The event was organized by Hayley Ockerby of Manchester-based R and O events, who stated the event has been very well supported by the Manchester and beyond business community.
Key103’s Darren Proctor will be the MC for the evening, which will take place in The Point – Emirates Old Trafford’s award-winning conference and events facility – on Thursday 18 February.
